NIST SURF Applications Now Open

The National Institute for Standards and Technology has announced that applications for their Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program are now open:

SURF is now accepting applications for the summer of 2019!  To apply, please submit your application at (References letters must be uploaded by the applicant).

Undergraduate Research Opportunity

Graduate students Hyun Yang and Ruosi Shao from the Bellisario College of Communications are looking for undergraduates to help conduct research this semester (SP19). They are conducting an experiment to examine the effects of virtual reality on human perceptions and behaviors and need undergraduate researchers to help with data collection in the experiment. Alumnus visiting to promote Friends Committee on National Legislation programs

Ben Rowles, 2018 Penn State alumnus and current Program Assistant for Peacebuilding Policy with the Friends Committee on National Legislation, will be on campus the first full week of February to share information with current Penn Staters about the opportunities available with his organization. The Friends Committee on National Legislation lobbies Congress and the administration to advance peace, justice, opportunity, and environmental stewardship.

Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships

The deadline for the FLAS (Foreign Language and Area Studies) fellowships applications for summer 2019 and academic year 2019-20 is February 1. The fellowships assist undergraduate and graduate students in achieving competency in selected foreign languages and/or conducting research in related international and area studies. They are a great opportunity to fund international study or projects.

Information session on Boren Awards scheduled for Nov. 5
